The Clown on a Tightrope March for orchestra, and concert band, is drawn from the Elia Kazan motion picture, Man on A Tightrope (20th Century Fox, 1953), based on Neil Paterson;s story International Incident. This Cold War drama chronicles the escape by a traveling circus from behind the Iron Curtain. The stars are Frederic March, Terry Moore, Gloria Graham, Cameron Mitchell, Adolphe Menjou and Richard Boone.
